Lunaria Seeds - Honesty Plant
Available November 15th 2023
Lunaria Brassicaceae
Known as Silver Dollar Plant, and Honesty Plant, Lunaria is extraordinary when it dries and so easy to grow. Purple flowers on perennial plants bloom in late spring, giving way to moon-like seed pods unlike any other. Once dried, pods can be gently peeled to reveal delicate shimmering discs which, if cared for properly, will last years.
How to grow lunaria: Plant seeds 2” apart. 1” deep - thin to 8” apart. Start indoors in fall or late winter and plant out after the first frost. Direct sow after in fall, or spring for a harvest the following year. Let flowers blooms and good to seed, allowing seed pods to dry on the plant, and harvesting before the rain stains them. Lunaria grows best in shady spots, and has a long taproot so it doesn’t transplant well.
Approximately 40 seeds
All of our seeds are open pollinated and organically grown in Qualicum Beach, BC
